Canada announces Emergency Response Benefits
March 25, 2020 – The Federal Government has officially announced the new, streamlined Emergency Response Benefits package for people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the new program, Canadians displaced by the virus, whether through illness, employment or caring for a loved one, will be eligible for up to $2-thousand-dollars a month for up to 4 months. An online portal is expected to be available as soon as possible with the first payments likely to start flowing on or shortly after April 6th, 2020. Overall, the Prime Minister says Canadians can expect money within 10 days of submitting an application.
