May 1, 2020 – Métis Nation – Saskatchewan is in full support of the Public Health Order issued on April 30, 2020, restricting travel to and from the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District (NSAD) particularly in and around La Loche where citizens are dealing with an outbreak of COVID – 19.

MN-S is working in partnership with First Nations and Northern Municipalities and is a part of the incident command centre established in Beauval to coordinate the efforts of northern communities to respond to the pandemic. MN–S will continue to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 including supporting the check stops, community containment efforts, supplying PPE, addressing food security, mobile isolation units and implementing other measures to respond to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the north.
