MN–S calls for continued action as two Saskatchewan residents lead Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls walk across Canada

February 11, 2022 – Two Saskatchewan residents will embark on a cross-country walk to raise awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG).

MN–S citizen Lindsey Bishop is joining Krista Fox to set out from Victoria, B.C., next Friday, February 18, 2022. The ten-month journey will wind down in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, in December. Lindsey’s family had a special send-off event in Saskatoon today. MN–S Women and Gender Equality Minister Loretta King offered words of encouragement.

The walk comes as Métis Nation–Saskatchewan continues to call for an increase in meaningful action by all levels of government to address the issue of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people.
