Guiding our children – Elders Sharing Their Voice

April 25, 2022 – Métis Elders, early learning educators and caregivers came together for an early learning and childcare conference, ‘Guiding Our Children – Elders Sharing Their Voice’, April 28–30, 2022. The conference drew more than 450 delegates from across the Métis Nation to connect and sharing best practices in early learning.

The three-day event included key notes speakers Krissy Lemaigre and Karen Bouvier, discussing the role of community and family in building Michif language, land-based learning, and Métis Cultural identity.  Educator and author Dr. Debbie Pushor, engaged invitees by sharing her narratives on parent engagement and leadership.  Her message of ‘a child’s education is from birth to forever’ will resonate with the audience.

The main stage keynote speakers and sessions from Ballroom B were live-streamed on Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30.
