Île-à-la-Crosse Residential School Survivors to show support

February 21, 2023 – Survivors of the Île-à-la-Crosse Residential School are asked to come together in a show of support, solidarity, and strength in the quest for recognition and healing.

Supported by Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S), the Île-à-la-Crosse Residential School Survivors’ Gathering will take place Friday, March 24 to Sunday, March 26 in Saskatoon. Special Keynote speakers will provide insight into the new legal action against Canada and Saskatchewan, discuss mental health and wellbeing and listen to ideas about what a survivors’ legacy looks like.

Priority will be given to those who lived at the school during its operation. If space allows, the Gathering will be open to Day School and intergenerational survivors. Wellness supports are available on site.
