April ‘Tea and Talks’ Discusses Cultural Revitalization as a Cancer Prevention Strategy

April 7, 2024 – Dr. Gary Groot will share details on an ongoing project aimed at lowering Métis cancer rates by exploring the influence of cultural connections on mental and physical well-being. The project is a collaboration between researchers from USask, the University of Regina, and First Nations University as well as partners from Métis Nation–Saskatchewan.

MN–S presents the Health Tea and Talks monthly in partnership with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and Health Canada. Each month a new topic is discussed with guest speakers who are experts in their fields.

The talks are an opportunity to ask important questions on topics like vaccines, nutrition, mental wellness, addiction, substance abuse, diabetes, cancer, tobacco, and vaping.
