MN–S sustains Michif languages through citizen involvement

June 18, 2024 – Metis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) needs your support in its revitalization and preservation efforts of Michif languages as a member of the new Language and Culture Advisory Panel.

MN–S is looking for ten (10) individuals with a conversational understanding of the Métis languages (Heritage Michif, Northern Michif, French Michif, Dene, Cree). The Ministry of Language needs your support in advising on resources and documents to work towards their language preservation framework. To make this project a success, the input of Lii Vyeu Moond (Elders), Old Ones, and Language Keepers is crucial.

Take time to make a difference in your community, and bear witness the rebirth of our Métis languages. The MN–S Ministry of Language will oversee and facilitate the recruitment process for the Language and Culture Advisory Panel.
