MN–S COO appointed to the Prime Minister’s Indigenous Advisory Council

The Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) government is pleased to announce that our Chief Operating Officer (COO), Matthew Vermette, has been named to the Prime Minister’s Indigenous Advisory Council. An economist by trade, Matthew has spent much of his career advancing indigenous economic inclusion and is one of the 11 indigenous experts that has been appointed by the Prime Minister.

Announced last month, the purpose of the Council is to provide Métis, First Nations, and Inuit insights into economic growth in the country, ensure duty to consult practices are exercised and Indigenous rights are respected. The Council will also work to advance reconciliation through economic opportunities for Indigenous peoples.
