MN–S calls for citizen feedback on housing in Saskatchewan

August 8, 2022 – Housing is a social determinant of health. When we have a sense of security and well-being, we are empowered to achieve greater outcomes in life.

As part of the Canada-Métis Nation jointly developed Métis Housing Strategy, Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) has partnered with the Métis National Council (MNC), Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC), Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) and Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) to conduct a National Housing Needs Assessment. We want to hear what your experiences are in your home and community.

To establish Métis appropriate housing strategies, the MN–S Housing Ministry is asking you to participate in a short survey about housing availability, conditions and needs in all 12 MN–S Regions of Saskatchewan.

The survey will ask questions such as where you currently reside and in what type of housing, what your specific requirements might be, how many people you live with and what MN–S programs you may currently be enrolled in.

Your personal responses will be held in strict confidence and will help your government understand housing needs distinctly for Métis and will assist in designing effective, appropriate policies, programs, and projects to meet these needs of our communities.

The survey is available online here https://metisnationsk.com/housing/survey. If you require assistance with the housing survey, please call 833-969-1234 and someone will be there to walk you through it.

Thank you for being a part of the important collection of housing information.
