All along this dispute the MN-S has been following process with the intent to make proper decisions, including seeking legal advice where appropriate. Today’s ruling is a part of that process and we maintain that intent.  Although the dispute with Mary Ann began in 2017, she only launched the legal action in May of 2019 and the MN-S moved to promptly deal with the issue.  We stand by the process which we followed. The Court declined to find bad-faith on the part of the MN-S.  At the end of the day this is a very technical legal case. Having reviewed the decision, the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan will be immediately appealing the decision.
