MN–S Provincial Métis Youth Council Presidential election November 6, 2021

September 30, 2021 – Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) is honoured to announce a province-wide youth election for President of the Provincial Métis Youth Council (PMYC). Advance voting will be on Friday, November 5, 2021, and election day is Saturday, November 6, 2021.

MN–S Youth Citizens, this is your chance to choose the Provincial Métis Youth Council (PMYC) President. You must be between the ages of 16 and 29 and hold a valid MN–S citizen card by October 16, 2021, to run in the election and vote.

This is a full-time position working with all 12 MN–S regions of the province to advocate for programs and opportunities for Métis youth. As President of the PMYC, you will promote youth at all levels of government.

Find out what it takes to be President of the PMYC and learn how to get involved in the election process during a one-hour zoom workshop hosted by the Chief Electoral Officer. The workshops will be held October 3, 2021, from 2 – 3 pm, and October 4, 2021, from 6 – 7 pm. To participate, go to www.mnselection.ca and sign up for the workshop of your choice.

Nominations for the election open on Saturday, October 16, 2021, and close on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Nomination papers can be submitted online, emailed to info@mnselection.ca, or delivered to the Chief Electoral Officer at the boardroom of the Four Points by Sheraton on Cope Way in Saskatoon.

Following the nomination process, you can visit the MN–S election website to view the candidates list and read about their vision.

The advance polls for the fall youth election start at 7:00 am on Friday, November 5, 2021, and election day is all day Saturday, November 6, 2021, until 7 pm. Please remember you will need to enter your citizenship information to be eligible to vote.
