MN–S pandemic supports

January 25, 2022 – Two years ago today, the first case of COVID-19 was detected in Canada. At the pandemic’s start, the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) government relied on strong partnerships with the federal government, the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and other stakeholders to help us provide emergency supports and relief for the immediate needs of our citizens. Since then, MN–S has supported many families and individuals with housing, childcare, medical transportation, mental wellness and emergency relief supplies and supports. Last fall, 13,500 registered Métis citizens participated in the MN–S vaccination incentive draws. MN–S held culturally safe vaccine clinics at our offices and with community partners. Support for communities with outbreaks continues and includes regional distribution of food hampers, PPE, testing kits and cleaning supplies. MN–S continues to work with the SHA and other partners to ensure all Métis citizens have access to what they need to help reduce the spread of the virus and address hardships created by the pandemic. https://metisnationsk.com/covid/
