Métis Nation–Saskatchewan Begins New Four-year Term

June 17, 2021 – With the historic Batoche Festival Grounds as the backdrop, members of the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) Provincial Métis Council (PMC) were sworn in today.

In accordance with the MN–S Constitution 2008, each member took an Oath of office to declare a commitment to work for the betterment of all Métis citizens in the province.

Elected officials, Elders and local presidents from all twelve MN–S Regions gathered to witness the next chapter of our Métis government.

The swearing-in ceremony was an invitation-only event at the Batoche Festival Grounds. Due to COVID-19, attendance was limited. Health protocols were adhered to, including temperature checks and COVID-19 rapid testing on-site provided by Staff from Métis local 165. The event was staged with the support and partnership of the Saskatchewan RCMP and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA).
